14.1 A display remains a managed asset
An LED video display remains part of an organisation's technical estate throughout its working life. Responsibilities for warranty, authorised support, access, documentation, software ownership and end-of-life treatment should be clear at organisational and contractual level.
14.2 Support arrangements
Support arrangements vary according to application, location, operating hours, warranty and the consequences of downtime. They may be provided by a manufacturer, an authorised partner, an independent specialist or a combination of organisations. The appropriate model is project-specific.
A public guide cannot define maintenance intervals, cleaning methods, diagnostic tests or repair boundaries because these depend on the exact product and site. Such activities should be controlled through the applicable professional support arrangement.
14.3 Repair, refurbishment and replacement as commercial scopes
Repair, refurbishment and replacement are different commercial scopes. Repair addresses a defined fault; refurbishment addresses broader condition or performance; replacement substitutes a different product or system. The terms do not, by themselves, define the work required or guarantee an outcome.
Decisions between those scopes require case-specific evidence and professional judgement. This guide does not provide selection criteria, decision trees, procedures or component-level guidance.
14.4 Documentation and compliance
Authorised work can affect warranty, conformity, electromagnetic compatibility, environmental protection, structural interfaces and image uniformity. Documentation and compliance responsibilities should therefore remain with the organisations responsible for the product and installation.
The guide's role is limited to explaining these governance concepts. It is not a maintenance manual or a substitute for product-specific professional support.
